SAT Fame

I am an 11th grader who attended this academy for 3 weeks. I enjoyed attending this academy very much, since my teachers were all excellent at teaching, had a high level of experience in the subjects they taught, and answered every question I had. Before I attended this academy, I thought my English and math skills were adequate, until I was given challenging math questions and taught new vocabulary and grammar rules. My experience in the SAT program was CRUCIAL during my preparation for the exam!  Dr. Li and Dr. Thompson provided us with numerous sample questions, challenging practice tests, and excellent feedback. Both of them are highly invested in their students' academic and professional success.  I highly recommend their program for any students who are preparing for this pivotal step in their education!

When I came into Dr. Li's for the first time I remember not having any hope for better SAT scores. I had already taken one course online and done 2-3 textbooks, and on top of that, taken every practice test available online. I was getting the same scores everytime-- high 1400s. Two words: Absolutely amazing. As a freshman at Poolesville HS, I am required to take the AP Government and Politics course. What I thought would take countless months to study and prepare for the AP test, Dr. Thomson’s and Dr.Li’s AP Gov prep class accomplished that in just a few hours. Rigorous and engaging, the course offered countless mock tests and instruction that made it a walk in the park to earn my 5 on the AP test.

Thanks to MathEnglish Academy, I scored a 1530 on the SAT on my first try as a freshman. Prior to attending Dr. Li’s program, I knew nothing whatsoever about the SAT, and after four weeks studying with Dr. Li, Dr. Thomson, Dr. Virtue, and Dr. Granger, I was able to achieve my goal. The in-depth analysis and practice of the different SAT question types familiarized me with common standardized test problems. The Digital SAT program helped me immensely when it came to preparing for the SAT, helping me achieve my goal score on the first try. Going into the test, I was terrified that I wouldn’t get a good score. However, as I was taking the test, I grew more and more confident with each question and my anxiety reduced, since I had come across those question types multiple times during the Digital SAT prep course. When I first participated in Dr. Li's SAT camp I wasn't expecting much, at first I was averse to the idea and only came on my parent's suggestion. I had taken the last paper SAT in the year previous but didn't get a satisfactory result. Despite my experience with the paper SAT, I was completely unfamiliar and intimidated with the new digital version.
